Tunes N Tint in Lakeland offers a wide range of truck bed covers, or tonneau covers as they are commonly known. If you are looking for a cover to protect your cargo and keep the weather out, you have come to the right place. Our team has spent countless hours on sifting the hundreds and hundreds of models to find the best-performing, most-reliable units on the market.
Truck Bed Cover Styles
When you decide to add a bed cover to your pickup, the first decision you need to make is whether you want a hard cover or a soft cover.
A soft cover has a primary advantage in offering a lower price: It will do a decent job of protecting your cargo from the weather. Soft covers are easy to install and come in rollup, folding and one-piece, hinged styles. However, the major drawback is security. All it takes is a pocket knife or razor blade and anyone can access what is rightfully yours. Our team is well-versed in soft covers and can help you find the right one, if that is the best solution for you.
Over the last several years, hard covers have moved from only being available in a one-piece style to offering folding and rollup models. This new technology has exploded the popularity of a hard tonneau cover. Now you can have a cover that is easy to use, very secure and does a good job at weather resistance. The advantage of a solid cover is security and weather resistance – they do it better than any other style. The downsides are a cover that doesn’t allow access from the side of the bed very well, and removing and reinstalling them is still a two-person job. While they fit a need, the other styles are often a better solution.
Here are the Truck Bed Covers we offer:
Solid covers
This is where it all started in hard covers. In the early days, they were fiberglass and extremely heavy. Nowadays, our solid models from Undercover are made from a composite material this is much lighter. For a more factory look all our solid covers can be painted to match the exterior of the truck they are installed on.
Folding Bed Covers
Far and away the most popular bed covers on the market use a folding design. You get a cover with three panels that are lightweight and easy to operate. You can open the rear panel and access your bed, flip it a second time for more access, and even flip it a third time for full bed accessibility. The cover can be flipped up against the rear of the cab if you need full bed access while driving. The only downside is it blocks a lot of your view out the back window.
Rolling-style Covers
If you are looking for the classiest, easiest cover to use, look no further. Our rolling hard covers will lock into the closed position, protecting your contents, and roll up easily for full bed access. One style will roll up on top of the bed and can be cinched in place right behind the rear of the cab. A second style uses a small canister that fits underneath the bed cover and allows the cover to retract inside, giving you a beautiful look, whether completely closed or open. They do a great job of protecting your cargo from the elements and are very secure. Multiple finish options are available, including black vinyl, textured aluminum and gloss back.
