Why Driver Safety Matters
With more and more accidental injuries or deaths that occur from distracted driving or unintended actions, driving safe matters now more than ever. Some of the most troubling accidents involve blind zones that impair a driver’s ability to see to the side or behind their vehicle. According to the non-profit organization KidsandCars.org, 50 children per week are involved in back over accidents, two of which are fatally injured and the other 48 being hospitalized.
What’s more concerning is that in over 70% of those accidents, a parent or family member is behind the wheel. This is completely preventable with the addition of driver safety technologies such as backup cameras, reverse sensors and blind spot detection systems.
Other concerns stem from the blind zones around the vehicle while on the road and the inattentiveness of the driver with varying degrees of distraction. Reverse Cameras and Sensors
Tunes-N-Tint offers a wide range of reverse cameras and sensor systems that compliment your vehicle and specific needs.
- Factory-Style Reverse Camera – If your vehicle make and model had a reverse camera available as a factory option, but it was not included in your specific trim level or option package, Tunes-N-Tint can easily add one that installs and operates just as the factory camera would.
- Universal Reverse Cameras – We offer a wide range of reverse cameras that are considered universal because they can install in any vehicle. There are many mounting styles, one of which will best suit your vehicle and needs. This allows you an easy way to add new car technology to your current vehicle without having to purchase a new car.
- 360 Degree Cameras – Our newest offerings in safety cameras are the 360 degree, multi-camera displays. This allows drivers to see in front of, behind and on both sides of the vehicle for an all-around ‘birds eye’ view. It’s an exceptional way to add situational safety awareness, but also helps with large vehicles, lifted vehicles or vehicles that have a long hood when parking so that you don’t scratch wheels or body panels on parking curbs.
- Reverse Sensors – The reverse sensor systems demonstrated and offered at Tunes-N-Tint show you how they provide audible warning beeps that increase in frequency when the vehicle gets closer to the object. They utilize small, discrete sensors in the vehicle’s rear bumper. Many reverse sensors systems can combine with a reverse camera to provide both visual and audible awareness of any hazards in the vehicle’s rear blind zone.
In addition to all the reverse camera and sensor options, we also provide many options for viewing the camera images. If your vehicle already has a factory-installed in-dash LCD screen, chances are we can integrate the reverse image to display on that screen. If you have an aftermarket multimedia stereo, we can easily integrate the reverse camera into that display. We also offer rear view mirrors with integrated LCD screens and stand-alone LCD screens that may be well suited for vehicles where other in-dash options are limited.
Lane Departure and Forward Collision Warning Systems
Tunes-N-Tint offers some of the most robust, high-tech lane departure warning (LDW) and forward collision warning (FCW) systems available. These utilize advanced optics to track your movement on the road and provide both visual and audible alerts to maintain lane position and indicate any potential hazards that could help avoid a front-end collision. These systems are great for those who spend a significant amount of time on the road, drive at night where inattentiveness is more probable or for company-owned vehicles that rely upon safe drivers to limit liabilities. Blind Spot Detection Systems
One of the most common causes of accidents on the road involves lane changes where neighboring vehicles (especially small cars and motorcycles) are in a driver’s blind spot. Our blind spot detection systems provide audible and/or visual warnings to help create higher awareness of those right and left side blind spots. The larger your vehicle, the greater the blind spot you have. Our expert specialists at Tunes-N-Tint can easily demonstrate these systems for you and show you the options that best suit your vehicle and driving conditions.
Dash Cameras with DVR
Another of the newest driver safety technologies is dash cameras that record events. These events can be motion-activities or recorded continually throughout the normal driving of the vehicle. This is helpful for any documentation in accidents, but also for added security when the vehicle is parked and unattended. Recorded events are easily viewed on a computer by downloading the DVR footage, either via USB or SD media card. The cameras are small and compact, easily installing near the rear view mirror or other unobstructed dashboard location.
Tunes-N-Tint can also customize any other camera needs, such as a rear-facing interior camera to keep tabs on baby seats or young children. Combine this with an LCD screen in a rear view mirror and you have a great way to minimize taking eyes off the road to monitor children.
Bluetooth Hands-Free Calling
One of the largest contributors to driver distraction is placing or receiving calls on your phone while driving. Our broad range of Bluetooth hands-free calling solutions can help keep your phone in your pocket or safely out of your hands while you easily place and receive calls wirelessly. We can integrate the sound to come through the vehicle’s existing speakers and even enable voice commands (if your Bluetooth-enabled phone supports it, such as Siri® on iPhone®). Place calls from your phone’s contact list, see the contact (or caller ID) and, via Bluetooth A2DP, stream audio programming such as internet radio like Pandora, iTunes® Radio, Spotify, IheartRadio, TuneIn or your phone’s own stored media content.
